Banda, a district of Uttar Pradesh is located in south Uttar Pradesh and it is a border city of Uttar Pradesh towards Madhya Pradesh . Banda district forms a part of Chitrakoot Division. History

The district derives its name from the headquarters town, Banda, which is said to have been derived from Bamdeo, a sage mentioned in Hindu mythology as an incarnation of Lord Rama. Bamdeo is said to have had his hermitage at the foot of a hill Bambeshwar near Khutla in Banda.  Read More History..
